NEW ORLEANS, La-- Loyola University New Orleans women’s tennis dropped a pair of matches to GCAC foes Spring Hill College and the University of Mobile on Saturday.
Against Spring Hill, the Badgers downed the Wolfpack 7-2. The Lady Badgers (8-3, 6-2 GCAC) led 2-1 after doubles play where they won 8-2 on both the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. Spring Hill then took five of the six singles courts, falling only on No. 1 where McCall Hedrick came up just short versus Loyola's Claire Landry 6-3, 6-4.
Loyola dropped the Mobile tilt by a score of 5-2. The Lady Rams grabbed wins at the top two doubles spots, including a 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles from Zelie Pfeiffer and Hartley. Mobile then cruised through the top three singles matches to clinch the match, winning 36 of 40 games.
Loyola (3-6, 3-5 GCAC) returns to action on Friday, March 26 at Nicholls State.
