Kansas City, Mo. – Loyola University New Orleans junior forward Ryan Brock was named Third-Team NAIA All-American on Tuesday, becoming the first player since the program was reinstated in 1991 to make one of the three teams.
Brock, who garnered honorable mention last season after leading the GCAC in scoring, led the conference once again and was eighth in the NAIA averaging 21.2 points per game. He was also one of the best in the country at causing turnovers, ranking 23rd in the NAIA in steals with 2.1 per game.
Since joining Loyola in the 2008-09 season, Brock has been rapidly moving up the all-time scoring list, where he sits at 15th with 1,150 points in 56 games played. He finished with 572 points on the year, sixth best for a single season at Loyola, falling six points short of last year’s mark.
Brock helped lead Loyola to 13 wins this season, the fifth most since the reinstatement.
