(New Orleans, La.) Loyola University New Orleans men’s basketball player McCall Tomeny was named to the All-Louisiana third team for his performance during the 2013-14 season.
McCall Tomeny averaged 16.7 points and 8.1 rebounds for the season. He led the Wolf Pack in both categories and was named to the SSAC All-Conference team and a NAIA Honorable Mention. Tomeny also was named to the SSAC All-Academic team. He ranked 10th in the SSAC in points and 3rd in rebounds. The junior made 46.9% of his shots which ranked seventh in the conference. The forward showed his range by drilling 15 threes this season. Tomeny tallied seven double doubles which tied for fourth most in the SSAC. He ranked 23rd in defensive rebounds per game and 26th in total rebounds in the NAIA. He finished third in the SSAC in defensive rebounds with 5.68 per contest.
Tomeny crossed the 1,000 point plateau on January 16th as the Wolf Pack pulled off a one point overtime victory against Blue Mountain College. The Baton Rouge native currently sits in 17th place in points scored with 1,169 points. He also ranks 11th in blocked shots and fifth in career rebounds. He recorded 179 rebounds this season which is the 15th most in the school annals.
The award was voted on by Louisiana media members as well as sports information directors of the participating schools.
