NEW ORLEANS, La. – The 20th ranked Loyola University women’s basketball team (20-2, 11-2 SSAC) returns to The DEN to take on the Faulkner Lady Eagles (17-7, 8-5 SSAC) on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT.
Saturday’s matchup will mark the fourth time that the two teams have faced each other on the court. Last game resulted in an overtime victory for the Wolfpack putting them ahead in the series 3-0.
The ‘Pack is coming off an 89-59 win over the University of New Orleans Lady Privateers on Wednesday. The victory secured head coach Kellie Kennedy her third 20 win season in her four years at Loyola. Sophomore Jasmine Brewer led all players with 26 points and 12 rebounds for her seventh double-double on the year. She was followed by seniors Keiva Council with 21 points and Amy Sprout with a career-high 18 points for the ‘Pack.
Council continues to lead the team for the year in points, averaging 22.5 points per game, while Brewer leads the Wolfpack in rebounding, averaging 7.7 per game.
The Lady Eagles enter Saturday’s game fresh off a three game winning streak with its most recent over William Carey. Junior Brittney Carter leads the team for the year with 18.7 points and 14.0 rebounds per game.
