NEW ORLEANS, La. – The 21st ranked Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team (18-2, 10-2 SSAC) will travel to Mobile, Ala. to take on the Spring Hill Badgers (8-13, 3-9 SSAC) on Saturday afternoon. The game will be played in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center with a tipoff set for 2 p.m. CT.
Saturday’s game will be the 36th contest between the two teams with Loyola leading the series 21-15. The two teams met earlier this year in New Orleans which resulted in a 72-59 decision in the ‘Pack’s favor.
Continuing its best start in program history, the Wolfpfack searches for its 19th overall and 11th conference win this season. The last time out, Loyola faced the University of Mobile, prevailing 82-57 in Mobile. The ‘Pack forced 25 turnovers, 18 of which were steals, and offensively shot 48.6 percent (34-for70) from the floor. Sophomore Jasmine Brewer led Loyola with a season-high 26 points. She also added six boards, three assists, and three steals.
On the season, senior Keiva Council paces the ‘Pack offense with 22.6 points per game, while Brewer averages a team-best 7.7 rebounds per outing.
Spring Hill comes into the game having defeated William Carey, 86-75. The Badgers had five players with double digits points, led by junior April Bradford who had 17 points off of a 63.4 percent (7-of-11) shooting percentage from the floor.
Bradford leads the team on the year in points and rebounds, averaging 11.1 points per game and 10.5 boards per game.
