NEW ORLEANS, La. – The 21st ranked Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team (17-2, 9-2 SSAC) will travel to face the University of Mobile Lady Rams (6-14, 4-7 SSAC) on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. CT. The matchup will take place in H. Austill Pharr Gymnasium in Mobile, Ala.
Thursday’s game marks the 40th time Loyola and Mobile have faced each other on the court. Last year, the two teams split a pair of matches with the Wolfpack winning in New Orleans 85-65 and the Lady Rams taking revenge in Mobile 72-69.
Loyola looks to continue its two conference game winning streak with the latest game against Auburn-Montgomery resulting in a decisive 75-48 victory. Sophomore Jasmine Brewer led all scorers with 21 points. She also added eight rebounds, two steals, and a block last Saturday.
Senior Keiva Council continues to lead the Wolfpack in scoring for the year averaging 22.9 points a game which ranks 3rd in the NAIA. Brewer remains the ‘Pack’s leader on the boards with 7.8 rebounds per contest.
Mobile looks to rebound after a two game losing streak to Spring Hill and Faulkner. The Lady Rams’ most recent victory came by a score of 72-54 on Jan. 19 at Auburn Montgomery. Seniors Allison Michael and Alice Honnery led both teams in scoring with 16 points each.
On the season, Honnery leads the team in points per game with an average of 15.2 per outing. She also pulls down a team high 11.2 rebounds per game, which ranks 8th in the NAIA.
