NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) announced Loyola University New Orleans student athlete Robert Lovaglio to the Honorable Mention list for the 2011-12 Jesuit Men’s Basketball All-Academic Team. To be selected, one must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Lovaglio enjoyed a spectacular sophomore season, both on and off the court. The Business Major averaged 16.08 points per game and shot 50.9% from the field, ranking 47th and 39th in the NAIA respectively. He led the Wolfpack with 6.88 rebounds per game and 2.38 assists a game. Lovaglio achieved three double-doubles on the year, including one inside The Barn against then #21 Xavier. Robert scored a season high 26 points twice and set a new career high of 15 rebounds.
Lovaglio has garnered many accolades throughout the year. The 6’5 forward was previously named to the 2012 All-Louisiana Men’s Basketball Team Honorable Mention and All-Southern States Athletic Conference. In addition, Lovaglio has won the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic Award for District 4 college division, and was named to the Jesuit Honor Roll three times for his offensive performances throughout the year.
