NEW ORLEANS, La. – This morning, Loyola University New Orleans men’s basketball standout Robert Lovaglio was named to the Jesuit Honor Roll for the week of November 21-28. The 6-5 sophomore forward was one of seven players recognized by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
Last week, Lovaglio led the Wolfpack to a split of two games, moving Loyola to a 5-2 overall record. In the first game against SUNO, the Winter Park native tied his season high of 26 points. He shot 10-17 from the field, 1-1 from beyond the arc, 5-5 from the free throw line, and recorded eight steals and four assists. Lovaglio followed that with a 14-point performance in the team’s win over Dillard, in which he shot 5-9 from the field, 4-5 from the free throw line, and tallied eight rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Lovaglio currently ranks the following in NAIA Division-1: 21st in Total Scoring (142), 23rd in offensive rebounds per game (3.286), 25th in points per game (20.286), 35th in total rebounds per game (8.143), 41st in free throw percentage (.818), and 42nd in total rebounds (57). Furthermore, he currently leads the ‘Pack in points (20.29 ppg), rebounds (8.14 rpg), and assists (3 apg).
Lovaglio and the Wolfpack return to action tonight at 7:30 p.m. CST, when they take on #21 ranked Xavier.
