NEW ORLEANS, La. – Ryan Brock scored 33 points on 13-for-17 shooting, and the Loyola men’s basketball team took down Dillard in The Den, 88-75.

Brock matched his season high in points, and led the team in rebounds with 8. Darrinton Moncrieffe finished with team highs in blocks and assists, with four of each.

The Wolfpack (12-10) started out hot, opening on a 10-0 run. Moncrieffe followed up a missed three-pointer with a put-back slam dunk. Moncrieffe followed that up by blocking Myron McGowan’s shot on the next Dillard (6-13) possession. A few possessions later, Moncrieffe scored on another towering dunk past the Dillard defense.

LU continued to build on its lead, going up 23-7 off of back-to-back three-pointers by Chris Joseph. Loyola continued to lead by double digits for the remainder of the half, taking a 47-27 lead into halftime.

Loyola took its biggest lead of the evening when Robert Lovaglio hit 3-of-4 free throws off earned from a foul and technical foul by Dillard. That series of charity shots gave LU a 72-42 lead with 10:33 to go.

Dillard went on a late surge, as Loyola’s starters rested for most of the second half, but the ‘Pack held on for the 13-point win.

Loyola next takes the court on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. on the road against Faulkner.
