ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern States Athletic Conference named Loyola’s Samantha Worsham Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending in October 2.
Worsham, a junior setter from Chicago Ill., led the team with 23 service aces for the week, including a career-high seven against Dillard. She tallied 16 aces during the Hampton Inn Wolfpack Invitational. Worsham dished out 147 assists for the week averaging 24.5 per match. She also had two double-doubles on the week against St. Thomas Houston and Texas A&M Kingsville which now brings her to 11 on the season.
Worsham is the second Loyola student athlete to be named SSAC Player of the Week since the Wolfpack moved into the new conference last season. Coming into tomorrow’s match, Loyola (12-7, 7-3) is second in the West Division following closely behind Spring Hill.
The Wolfpack will host West Alabama on Tuesday night in a non-conference match. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
