(Tunica, Ms.) The Loyola University New Orleans men’s and women’s golf teams were represented at the third annual “The BUC” tournament hosted by Christian Brothers University this week. Five men and four women from the Wolf Pack participated in the two-day event.
The women’s squad finished fourth overall with a combined score of 674 over the two rounds. Freshman Sarah-Anne Smurlick tied for fourth individually, shooting an 81 in the first round and scoring 78 at the end of day two. Smurlick was named to the All-Tournament Team.
The men’s team placed sixth, ending the tournament with a combined total of 631. Freshman Keith Burkard snagged ninth place on the men’s side. He shot one over par with a 73 on day one and scored 80 to round out tournament play.
The men’s golf team will travel to Gulfport, Miss. on Oct. 27 to compete in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Tournament. The women’s team will see action on Nov. 4 when they head to Hattiesburg, Miss. for the William Carey University Tournament.
