Two Loyola women’s tennis players receive academic honors

(Mobile, Ala.) Sophomore Kanda Borgognoni and junior Cristiana Krtalic of the Loyola University New Orleans women’s tennis team were named 2014 Daktronics-NAIA Women’s Tennis Scholar-Athletes.

Borgognoni, a biochemistry major, participated in all matches of the 2014 season in the #1 doubles and #2 singles position. She went (7-12) individually and (8-11) playing alongside junior Meghan de Baroncelli in doubles action. De Baroncelli is studying biology.

Krtalic did not appear in any matches in 2014, but she won four doubles matches as a sophomore in 2013. She is expected to return to action for her senior campaign.
