NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans women’s volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (8-25, 15-25, 19-25) loss NCAA competitor West Florida in The DEN Tuesday night. With the loss the Wolfpack fall to 15-10 overall.
For the fifth time this season, Loyola suffered a straight-set loss, with four of the five coming against NCAA opponents. The ‘Pack got the 15th double-double of the season from Samantha Worsham, as the junior setter had 16 assists and 11 digs to add to her resume. Junior Kailey Tuthill, sophomore Sabrina Stansberry, freshman, and freshman Kara Nishimuta led the ‘Pack with six kills each. Senior Amanda Oldani contributed a team high 13 digs. LU was held to a .034 hitting percentage in the match.
West Florida posted a .269 hitting percentage as a team, as Jenny Bellairs paced the Argos with a match-high 11 kills. Haley Shackelford had 10 kills and 11 digs for UWF, and hit .333 in the match. Anna Stoecklein had a match-high 15 digs. With the win, West Florida is 5-0 against Loyola.
Loyola will play their final home conference match of the season this Thursday, Oct. 27, when the Wolfpack host Faulkner University at 7 p.m. in The DEN.
