JACKSON, Miss. – The Loyola University New Orleans women’s volleyball team closed the first day of the Millsaps Volleyball Tournament with two shut outs against LeTourneau (25-11, 25-14, 25-9) and Legrange (25-18, 25-8, 25-17) on Friday night from The Hangar Dome. Samantha Worsham paced the Wolfpack for the third straight match posting her 17th double-double on the season.
Worsham’s night included 10 digs against LeTourneau, as the junior setter continued to lead the way. Junior Kailey Tuthill contributed with 10 kills and three aces. Sophomore middle blocker Sabrina Stansberry added nine kills. Defensively, senior Amanda Oldani produced nine digs. Freshman Kelsey Wood had a stellar match with her career-best five aces.
For the matchup with Legrange, freshman O’Neal McMullan led the way with 13 kills while Tuthill added nine more to her Friday night resume. Oldani led the defense as well as the serving attack with 14 digs and three aces. Freshman Becca Burnett had nine digs and four aces.
The Millsaps Volleyball Tournament will conclude on Saturday with two matches starting at 12 p.m. when Loyola and Howard Payne take the court. Following the match the Wolfpack will rest up and battle Centenary College at 4 p.m.
