NEW ORLEANS, La. – Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball head coach Kellie Kennedy announced the addition of Tyler Thompson to the Wolfpack’s 2012 signing class. Thompson, a 5-foot-7 guard, is Loyola’s first member of the incoming class.
“We are excited to have Tyler in the Wolfpack program,” said Kennedy. “She has a bright future ahead of her and I know she will become an integral part of the success of Loyola women's basketball.”
The Monroe, Louisiana native had a stellar career at Quachita High School where she averaged 9.2 points off a 44.6 field goal percentage. Thompson also contributed 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
During her high school career, Thompson also was honored as a Second-Team All Northeast Louisiana recipient, as well as both a First and Second-Team All-District member. In addition, she won her school’s coaches award and defensive player award.
As well as her on the court achievements, Thompson is also a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and Junior Civitans.
