NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans made another addition last week when Coach Kellie Kennedy announced the signing of Baton Rouge’s Briana Oglesby. Oglesby, a 5-foot-10 guard, is Loyola’s second member of the incoming class as she joins Tyler Thompson.

“Briana is a very talented student athlete who knows how to win,” said Kennedy. “She has the ability to put up big numbers and defend on the other end of the floor. We are very excited about her becoming a big part of our future success at Loyola.”

Oglesby averaged 18.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.1 steals, and 2.6 assists during her career at University High School. For her performance over the past four years, she was a four-time All-District honoree as well as a three-time All-Metro honoree. This year she was recognized as the District MVP along with a spot on the All-State 2nd Team and the LHSBCA All-Star Team.

Oglesby also ranks in several recruiting services. The 5-foot-10 guard ranks 62nd by position and 246th overall by the Dan Olsen Scouting Service.
