KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Loyola University New Orleans women’s basketball team received 87 votes in this week’s NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, ranking the Wolfpack 23rd nationally. The ‘Pack received 27 more votes than last week’s poll, moving up five spots. The poll was voted up by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents. The next regular-season Top 25 Poll will be announced on Jan. 23.
Loyola is coming off a 72-59 win over conference foe Spring Hill. The Wolfpack forced 19 turnovers converting those into 22 points. The ‘Pack also out rebounded the Badgers 48-36.
Loyola is currently 14-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play, marking the best start in the program’s history. The ‘Pack ranks nationally in the NAIA in an incredible 14 categories, including No. 1 in field goal percentage (47.9) for a consecutive two months. Loyola also ranks in the top 10 three more categories: 4th in scoring margin (19.9), 6th in scoring offense per game (79.7), and 6th in in three-point field goal percentage (35.8).
