KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Loyola women’s basketball team received 32 votes in this week’s NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, 17 more votes than last week’s poll. The Wolfpack is now ranked 28th nationally, moving up five spots. The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents. The next regular-season Top 25 Poll will be announced Jan. 9.
Loyola is currently 9-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play, which is the best start in the program’s history. The ‘Pack ranks nationally in the NAIA in an impressive 20 categories, including No. 1 in field goal percentage (49.8) for the third straight week. The Wolfpack also ranks in the top 10 in three more other categories: 6th in 3-point field goal percentage (36.3), 7th in scoring margin (22.4), and 8th in scoring offense per game (80.9).
The ‘Pack will square off against cross-town rival and No. 16 ranked Xavier at home in The DEN Saturday, Dec. 17. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CT.
