Loyola athletes lend a hand on move-in day

Posted: August 27, 2009 for Cross Country and Track

New Orleans, La. – The new incoming class at Loyola began moving into the residential halls yesterday, and the Wolfpack athletes are doing their part to help out.

The Wolfpack student-athletes will be on campus assisting students and their parents, helping them move in and more importantly, making them feel welcomed to their new surroundings.

The Loyola athletes understand moving in can be a difficult process, and they hope by pitching in, it can make life a little easier for the new students.

“Assisting in the move in gives our student athletes the opportunity to reach out to the student body and lend a hand in welcoming the new arrivals to campus,” said women’s basketball head coach Kellie Kennedy, who is in charge of directing the athletes. “It serves as a great first impression to our new students and their families and helps with their transition to college. I think our new students realize from their first moments on campus that Loyola is a place where they can find a supporting community and many friendly faces- even if they are outfitted in practice gear!”

This is the fourth year the Loyola athletes have been participating in move-in day activities.
