Loyola volleyball drops both matches at Rhodes

Memphis, Tenn. - The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team fell in their two matches on Saturday, losing 3-1 to both Freed-Hardeman and Union University.
In the early match, Loyola took the first game against Freed-Hardeman, 28-26. The Lady Lions won the next two sets, 25-21, before sealing the match with a convincing 25-9 win.
Sophomore Gina Gill led the Wolfpack with 18 kills. Freshman Samantha Worsham had 37 assists and 14 digs.
In the rematch against Union, Loyola was able to win the third game 25-23 after losing the first two, 25-14 and 25-21. However, the Lady Bulldogs proved to be too much, and held on to take the final set 25-22.
Gill led the Wolfpack once again with 20 kills. Worsham tallied 39 assists, and Amanda Oldani finished with 27 digs. Freshman Rachael Roth served six aces, while sophomore Ashley England chipped in with two blocks.
Loyola (5-4) returns to GCAC action when they travel to Mobile on September 16 to take on Spring Hill. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
