Loyola volleyball defeats Spring Hill 3-1

Mobile, Ala. - The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team traveled to Mobile on Wednesday night to take on the Spring Hill Lady Badgers, and came away with a 3-1 victory.

After losing the first match, 23-25, the Wolfpack took the next two sets in convincing fashion, winning 25-17 and 25-18. The Lady Badgers (2-5, 1-2) put up a fight in the final set, but Loyola held on to win 25-20, improving their conference record to 2-0.

Ashley Abendschein led Loyola with 14 kills, and Gina Gill added 10. Samantha Worsham had 32 assists, while Amanda Oldani had 13 digs. Rachael Roth finished the game with seven aces, including four straight in the second set.

Loyola (6-4, 2-0) will play their first home match of the season when they host Belhaven on September 22 at The Den. The match is slated for 7 p.m..
