Posted: September 22, 2009 for Women's Tennis

New Orleans, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans women’s tennis program signed Claire Landry, a transfer from NCAA Division I Lipscomb, as its first member of the newly instated team.

Landry played singles and doubles for the Lady Bison last season, which compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Landry, a two-time A-Sun All-Academic recipient, posted 15 wins in singles, and 12 wins in doubles while at Lipscomb.

Landry attended high school at Lafayette High, where she won Louisiana state championships in doubles in 2006 and 2007.

"I am excited Claire has decided on continuing her career at Loyola University,” said women’s tennis head coach Zubin Engineer. “It was important for her to choose a well rounded university in terms of academics and athletics."
