Loyola volleyball knocks off Dillard 3-0

New Orleans, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team faced the Dillard Lady Bleu Devils Saturday afternoon at The Den and remained undefeated in the GCAC with a 3-0 victory.

Loyola started out well, taking an early 10-4 lead in the first set, and maintained it throughout to take the game 25-19. Gina Gill had a dominating performance, scoring nine points which included seven kills and two aces.

In the second set, Ashley Abendschein started things off by serving seven straight points. Dillard came within four points at 22-18, but the Wolfpack scored the next three for the 25-18 win.

Loyola closed out the match with an impressive 25-12 victory. The Wolfpack improved to 9-6, and 5-0 in the GCAC. Dillard falls to 3-6, and 1-2 in conference.

Gill paced Loyola with 12 kills and four aces. Rachael Roth followed with 10 kills, and Lindsay Mullinix added seven. Samantha Worsham finished with 34 assists, and Amanda Oldani led with eight digs.

Loyola continues their home stand this Tuesday, October 6, when they host the University of Mobile at 7 p.m. Mobile is currently undefeated in conference, standing at 3-0.
