New Orleans, La. – The Loyola University New Orleans volleyball team hosted Jesuit and GCAC rival Spring Hill College on Tuesday night at The Den, and came away with an impressive 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-23) victory.

Loyola (15-10, 6-2 GCAC), playing their final home match of the season, took a 2-0 lead in the first game after two aces by Lindsey Mullinix. Another ace by Mullinix gave Loyola a 13-9 lead, then the Wolfpack extended their advantage with an 8-4 run, capped off by a Samantha Worsham ace. Spring Hill got two kills to make the score 24-17 Wolfpack, before Kari Price slammed an attack to give Loyola a 25-17 win.

In the second set, the teams were neck and neck early on, until Spring Hill (6-12, 3-6 GCAC) scored four straight points after being down 9-8. Loyola evened the score at 12
with a Rachael Roth kill, and then the Wolfpack scored eight of the next 12 points to go up 20-16. Ashley Abendschein would end the game at 25-20 with her ninth kill of the set.

In the final set, the Lady Badgers fought back to tie the game at 8-8 after being down early. With the game tied, Worsham made an outstanding save on a Loyola pass, setting
up Price for a kill. The Wolfpack took a 20-17 lead after two straight kills by Roth, then Mullinix finished off a Spring Hill rally with a kill for the 25-23 win.

Abendschein and Roth both stepped up in the absence of conference kill leader Gina Gill, who was out due to an injury, leading the attack with 12 kills each.
