Loyola’s Brock, Oldani Honored by GCAC

New Orleans, La.- Loyola men’s basketball player Ryan Brock and volleyball player Amanda Oldani were honored by the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference for their performances last week.
Brock, a 6-3 junior forward, was tapped GCAC Player of the Week in men’s basketball. He led Loyola with 24 points on 10 of 19 shooting from the field in the Wolfpack’s season opener, a 111-54 victory over Carver Bible College on Friday. Brock, who prepped at Brother Martin in New Orleans, also contributed six rebounds and six assists. He equaled a career high four steals in the win.
Loyola men’s hoops returns to action on Friday, November 6 against Wesley College with a 7 p.m. tip off in The Den. Prior to the Loyola-Wesley match up, the Wolfpack JV will take on Baton Rouge Community College at 5 p.m. in The Den.
Oldani, a 5-7 sophomore from New Braunfels, Texas, garnered GCAC Libero of the Week honors. In five matches last week, Oldani averaged 5.0 digs per game while recording two service aces.
Loyola volleyball plays Tuesday, November 3 at the University of Mobile with a start time set for 7 p.m. The regular season wraps up for the volleyball team with a match against Dillard on Friday, November 6 in Dent Hall on Dillard’s campus.
