Loyola Baseball to Open Fall World Series Friday Night

Westwego, La.- Loyola baseball will open their annual Fall World Series with game one slated for Friday evening at 6 p.m. at Segnette Field. Pitching match ups for the first contest have sophomore left-hander Alex Wolf going against junior right-hander Carl Labit.

Wolf, who prepped at Hammond High, appeared in 14 games and pitched 25 innings for the Wolfpack last season. Wolf will start for the Gold team.

Labit gets the nod for the Maroon team. A transfer from Delgado, Labit comes to Loyola after posting a 1-0 record in six appearances for the Dolphins. He finished the season with a 5.59 ERA at Delgado.

The three game series will continue with game two scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. Game three will take place on Saturday, November 14 with first pitch slated for 1 p.m. Preceding game three Loyola will hold their annual home run derby fundraiser.
