The Loyola women’s basketball team joined the Pokey Chatman Century Club, as part of Operation Rebound, to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Operation Rebound, started by LSU women’s basketball head coach Pokey Chatman, was founded to raise money and increase awareness for the New Orleans area in the recovery from hurricane Katrina.
“Although we were affected by Katrina, we were certainly not victims and I feel we can be part of the solution of bringing the city back, and as a team we wanted to support the cause,” said Loyola head coach Dobee Plaisance, whose team raised the $1,000 to be a part of the Century Club.
The Loyola women’s team played LSU in an exhibition on November 1st with the Tigers defeating the Wolfpack 90-47.
